New Hope for Antibiotic Resistance in East Africa

November 25, 2018

Through our first 2 workshops in Africa we have taught 50 scientists how to isolate phages to kill antibiotic-resistant bacteria — and those researchers have already amplified that work 10-fold!

For every scientist we have trained, they have taught phage biology to 10 or more others. And for every $1 we have spent on the workshops, the participants have won more than $10 in grants to fund their phage product development.

Great job, everyone!

Please help us multiply this important work. Matching funds will be available for donations received on Giving Tuesday — 2 days from now. To deliver 2 workshops in 2019, we need to raise $20,000 plus win additional small grants. Initial preparations are underway for one workshop in West Africa (Ghana) and another in East Africa (Tanzania). Stay tuned for exciting info about those!
